Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk will hold a music, art, and culinary festival and technology exhibition named DIGItal isLAND or Digiland 2022 presented with a digital element at Istora Senayan here on July 31, 2022.

Digiland, a part of Telkom's 57th anniversary commemoration, will be held to provide entertainment to people, State-owned telecommunications enterprise Telkom Indonesia's President Director, Ririek Adriansyah, noted during a press conference on Digiland here on Friday.

In addition, it introduces the new face of the company, as it undergoes its digital transformation, he remarked.

"Ever since the start of 2020, we plan for Telkom's transformation that used to mostly revolve around telecommunication. Now, we expand to digital telecommunication," he remarked.

"This event is one of the forms in which we realize and communicate the message to the people," he affirmed.

Digiland puts the spotlight on digital technology-related aspects by featuring products from digital startups, migration of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to the online marketplace, games created by local developers, and introduction of metaverse to sell products.

Telkom Indonesia's Senior VP Corporate Communication & Investor Relations Ahmad Reza explained that Digiland is divided into four event avenues called Land that showcase different exhibitions.

These four exhibitions comprise Music Land that features popular bands and singers; Creation land that features artwork; Connectivity Land that presents Telkom startup products; and Pasar Rakyat that showcases MSMEs that already underwent digital transition.

At this event, Telkom will also introduce Metanesia, a metaverse-based online shopping platform that can exhibit products and allow visitors to use them through digital experience by utilizing virtual reality or VR technology.

The potential remains huge in future to develop Indonesia through digitalization, Adriansyah remarked.
