Currently, 17 people are infected with COVID-19, out of which 14 are in Solo, while three are in SemarangSolo, Central Java (ANTARA) - The Indonesia National Paralympic Organization Committee (Inaspoc) confirmed that a total of 17 participants of the ASEAN Para Games (APG) 2022 were currently declared to have contracted COVID-19.
"Currently, 17 people are infected with COVID-19, out of which 14 are in Solo, while three are in Semarang," Inaspoc's Health and Pharmacy Subdivision member, Siti Wahyuningsih, noted here on Tuesday.
These 17 people comprise athletes and officials. Currently, all of them are in good condition, and they continue to be monitored by the APG 2022 health team.
"They are undergoing five days of quarantine since several days. This means if they are positive, they must cut off interaction with others by isolating themselves in their hotels for the greater good," she explained.

Speaking in connection with the previous 10 cases, Wahyuningsih noted that they had been declared negative for COVID-19, thereby translating to the fact that they can continue their activities as normal.
As all athletes and officials exposed to COVID-19 are in good condition and with no symptoms, the committee continues to provide hospitals for further handling.
"There are the Dr. Moewardi, PKU, and JIH Hospitals, but the main referral hospital is Moewardi. If they need further medical handling, I would sent them to Moewardi," Wahyuningsih noted.

Inaspoc Secretary General Rima Ferdianto noted that in accordance with the Health Ministry's mandate, everyone exposed to COVID-19 must undergo isolation for five days before undergoing another swab test.
"If they are negative, then they can participate in the game once again," he remarked.
If until the end of 2022 APG, the athlete is still undergoing isolation, then they lose the competition.
"That is the consequence if APG still has to be held in accordance with the established schedule," he explained.
