Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Environment and Forestry Ministry is expecting regional governments to support the expedition of the 2030 FoLU Net Sink program at the regional level through the formulation of a developmental policy.

In addition, the ministry is also expecting support from other stakeholders to spread the positive goal of the 2030 FoLU Net Sink, Director General of Sustainable Forest Management (PHL) at the ministry Agus Justianto said.

These other stakeholders comprise academicians, environment and forestry development partners, non-governmental organizations, and the media, he added during Indonesia's 2030 FoLU Net Sink Sub National Dissemination, held virtually on Monday.

"This should be done to ensure that the public down to the grassroots level realizes the importance of climate change handling action for the future," he said.

The 2030 FoLU Net Sink national target should be distributed wisely, Justianto added.

This should be done by considering the greenhouse gas emissions reduction target and the baseline for every mitigation action that will be carried out in synergy with various development plans, he explained.

During the virtual dissemination, he urged ministry officials attending the event to discuss and synergize the targets that will be achieved with the existing regional development plan.

The success of the 2030 FoLU Net Sink program will be affected by the coherence of the central and regional natural resources policy, Justianto informed.Related news: Ministry's efforts bolstered to achieve FoLU Net Sink 2030 target
