This program is expected to support the growth of MSMEs to be more competitive in the digital era so they can penetrate the international market.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned banknote printer Peruri has unveiled the Digital Entrepreneur Academy, which will offer an incubation, guidance, and assistance program to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to improve their capability for facing the Industry 4.0 era.

The Peruri Digital Entrepreneur Academy was unveiled in Bandung last Friday in a ceremony attended by a number of officials.

The academy is a concrete form of the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) implementation, head of corporate secretary at Peruri, Adi Sunardi, said in a statement issued on Monday.

The CSR implementation aligns with the sustainable development goals (SDGs), namely providing decent jobs and supporting economic growth.

"This program is expected to support the growth of MSMEs to be more competitive in the digital era so they can penetrate the international market," he explained.

The Peruri Digital Entrepreneur Academy will put more emphasis on digital technology utilization to improve business performance in the Industry 4.0 era, such as optimizing social media and e-commerce sites or marketplaces, and websites, among others.

This has become very important, especially because the pandemic that has plagued Indonesia for two years has forced people to utilize digital technology to carry out their daily activities.

In addition, MSMEs plan to use Peruri's Digital Security Products, including Peruri Code, which will facilitate monitoring and data collection on sold products.

While 86 MSMEs registered for the program in the initial stage, only 79 cleared the administration selection process to enter the next stage.

The 79 MSMEs were then curated by experts and professionals, and eventually, 25 MSMEs were selected to participate in the Peruri Digital Entrepreneur Academy. Nine of these MSMEs are Peruri's mentorship partners.

These program participants will be given new experiences and knowledge for three months to develop their businesses, starting from business knowledge, product design, branding, digital marketing, and entrepreneur leadership.

After the incubation process is over, business guidance will be provided to help the program participants internalize the training material and form new habits based on it.

In addition, monitoring will be carried out to ensure that the steps that have been made within business planning are implemented well to reach the set target.
