During the event that is part of the G20 Ministerial Conference on Women's Empowerment (MCWE) side event, Puspayoga affirmed that her ministry is giving due priority to empowering pre-prosperous women, women heads of families, and survivors.
The MCWE is part of the G20 events focused on empowering women to become active players in the economy.
G20 is an international forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union that work together to handle major issues. Indonesia is holding the presidency of the grouping this year.
During the pandemic, the ministry cooperates with the financing firm PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) for the Mekaar (Guiding Prosperous Family Economy) Program to help pre-prosperous women, she said.
Moreover, the minister urged women to support, motivate, and inspire one another to realize empowered womankind.
On a separate occasion, the ministry's Public Participation Acting Deputy Indra Gunawan noted that collaborative efforts with various parties become Indonesia's strength to realize empowered and independent Indonesian women.
The Indonesian government actively cooperates with parties outside the government, such as the private sector players, he revealed.
Several private companies have managed to develop policies to ensure the participation of women in the decision-making process, he remarked.
The government has also issued various policies and programs to support and bolster the empowerment of women in various sectors that even reach the village level.
