The 2023 program aims to digitalize 30 million MSMEs and have them enter e-commerce platforms
Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi (ANTARA) - The government targets 30 million micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Indonesia to adopt digitalization in 2023 to develop their businesses, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno stated.

"The 2023 program aims to digitalize 30 million MSMEs and have them enter e-commerce platforms," he noted on the sidelines of the 2022 Indonesia Creation Appreciation (AKI) here on Friday.

Uno said his ministry currently recorded 19 million MSMEs that had entered the digital ecosystem and 11 million other MSMEs that had lined up to adopt digitalization.

President Joko Widodo stated that economic digitalization had produced two Decacorns, or companies with market capitalization above US$10 billion, namely J&T Express and GoTo, Uno noted.

"There are also nine unicorns, so there are 11 companies. These are the pioneers from what we show here, and they will become major corporations," he stated.

Meanwhile, speaking in connection with the AKI activity held on August 26-28, 2022, in Kendari, the minister said that the event is a creative economy development program.

This is implemented through bootcamp for creative economy actors in the culinary, crafts, fashion, music, film, and application subsectors. The event has been held in 16 districts or cities in Indonesia, including Kendari.

In 2021, the AKI program managed to increase the revenue of creative economy actors. AKI has become a platform for these actors to meet investors as well as stakeholders and collaborate with them.

"The 2022 event should be cooler. Participants should be ready. Why is that? (It is) because we seek to encourage the proud of Indonesian products national movement program," he remarked.

Uno urged all parties to cooperate in line with the president's statement that solutions are necessary to handle economic challenges and rising prices, including through efficiency and digitalization program.

"We make it, so that in future, our creative economy products can produce profits and (usher in) prosperity for the people," he remarked.

The people should also not harbor concerns over other foreign products since Indonesian products can compete with them, he stated.
