"I hope that this collaboration can improve the capabilities, capacities, or intellectual performance of Unhan students," Subianto remarked after joining the opening of Unhan's 2022–2023 academic year as the inspector of ceremony and the promotion of student cadets in Bela Negara Campus, Bogor, West Java, on Friday.
At least 792 new students from provinces across Indonesia, who successfully passed the admission process for the 2022–2023 academic year, attended the ceremony.
They comprised 175 students from the Diploma III Vocational Program (D-3), 300 students from the Bachelor's Degree Program (S-1), 293 from the Master's Degree Program (S-2), and 24 from the Doctoral Program (S-3).
Before the ceremony, the minister witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on educational and research cooperation between Unhan and Rabdan Academy. The MoU was inked by Unhan Rector, Vice Admiral Amarulla Octavian, and Rabdan Academy's Dean of the Faculty of Resilience, Dr. Faisal Ahmed AlKaabi.
On the occasion, Subianto expressed his gratitude to AlKaabi for Rabdan Academy's willingness to cooperate with the Indonesian Defense University.
In addition to educational and research cooperation, both varsities also established a study abroad cooperation, under which Unhan student cadets will attend lectures at Rabdan Academy for one semester.
Moreover, they also inked cooperation related to academic development, and vocational and joint training programs in the fields of security, defense, and crisis management, which will include joint seminars, conferences, training courses, and workshops.
Earlier, on June 30, Minister Prabowo Subianto and UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi, had signed a cooperation protocol on defense industry development, which covered capacity building and human resource development.
