Jakarta (ANTARA) - The State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry and state-run oil and gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) are helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to enter the international market through the 2022 Tong Tong Festival.

"The event is not only for exhibitions (to showcase Indonesian culture), but also to open new markets for Indonesian MSMEs, especially Pertamina's fostered (MSME) partners. It is proved that the MSME products showcased are very good, attractive, and able to compete with other international products," special staff to the SOEs Minister, Arya Sinulingga, said in a statement received here on Saturday.

The 2022 Tong Tong Festival features Indonesian dances, music, literature, and culinary items and is being held at The Hague, the Netherlands, from September 1–11, 2022. PT Pertamina has brought 175 of the best products of MSME partners to the event.

According to the special staff, the Roemah BUMN (SOE House) at the festival is the result of a collaboration between the ministry and PT Pertamina and several other SOEs for encouraging MSMEs to go global.

Furthermore, he lauded the participation of PT Pertamina's fostered MSME partners who are presenting various superior products at the festival.

At the festival, PT Pertamina said it is grateful to be able to present its fostered partners with quality products from all regions throughout Indonesia.

This reflects PT Pertamina's commitment to encouraging the national economy by assisting MSME players to continue to advance and enter the global market.

PT Pertamina’s Vice President for the Corporate Social Responsibility & Small Medium Enterprise Partnership Program Fajriyah Usman said that the 175 products were produced by MSMEs fostered by PT Pertamina's Roemah BUMN at 30 locations in Indonesia.

The products went through a strict curation process carried out by PT Pertamina and the Tong Tong Festival organizing committee.

"The selected MSME products are local champions in the domestic market and certainly have the taste and quality, which are in accordance with the demands of the global market. The 175 superior products which passed the curation process consist of fashion, culinary, and crafts products,” Usman informed.
