Depok, West Java (ANTARA) - The University of Indonesia (UI), the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry agreed to collaborate in developing an ICT-based integrated learning system.

"Our partnership with KOICA is crucial, not only for UI but also for Indonesia," UI Vice Rector of Human Resources and Assets Prof Dr Ir. Dedi Priadi, remarked at UI's Depok campus, West Java, on Wednesday.

Priadi said the signing of the Record of Discussion (RoD) by the three parties for the project of increasing the capacity of ICT-based integrated learning system has several objectives.

One of the project's goals is to build the high-tech environment-friendly building "Connectivity Hub (C-Hub)" at UI's Faculty of Humanities (FIB).

Priadi is sanguine about the cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea contributing to a more friendly world.

Representing KOICA, Jeong Yun-gil, the Country Director of KOICA Indonesia, stated that the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCS) system has an important role in building the capacity of UI lecturers and students, especially during the pandemic. He said, this project is designed to strengthen and improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia.

He explained that in South Korea, the development of human resources is not the sole key to achieving economic development but is one of the agendas to advance the country.

"We have a great responsibility to carry out this project," Jeong remarked.

He noted that KOICA had shared South Korea's experiences in human resource development with Indonesia.

"The KOICA team and I promised to support and put in full efforts for this project. The Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry and UI can focus on this project. We believe that this project will achieve the expected results, which is to build quality (human) resources," he explained.
