…NTT has chosen to send live fish directly from Kupang because the demand for live groupers from Hong Kong is very high.
Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - Twenty tons of live groupers will be sent in October 2022 from Kupang to Hong Kong, which is an export destination for East Nusa Tenggara’s (NTT’s) fishery products, Governor Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat has informed.

"NTT province is a region that has abundant fisheries and marine potential. After the NTT government optimized the management of grouper aquaculture development, the results have been extraordinary," he said when contacted here on Saturday.

Laiskodat affirmed that the NTT government will continue to encourage investment in fishery and marine business development because that will greatly help in increasing community income.

In October, the NTT government will export 20 tons of live groupers to Hong Kong after successfully sending live groupers there earlier, he noted.

According to him, there is a huge market potential for live groupers in Hong Kong.

"The market potential of live groupers in Hong Kong is very high. For that reason, NTT has chosen to send live fish directly from Kupang because the demand for live groupers from Hong Kong is very high," the governor explained.

He expressed the hope that as demand for live groupers continues to increase, the province would be able to export fish every month, given the abundant marine natural resources in the province. This is expected to boost the economy of the people of NTT quickly.
