Jakarta (ANTARA) - Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Transportation Ministry is preparing to conduct Traffic Engineering Management (MRLL) to support implementation of the G20 Summit on November 15-16, 2022, in Bali Province.

"Today, we invite stakeholders to (discuss and) support the implementation of MRLL in the G20 (Summit) event, so that all activities of the delegations and community will run well," Director General of Land Transportation at the ministry Hendro Sugiatno remarked on Tuesday, at the coordination meeting for the implementation of Indonesia's 2022 G20 Summit in Bali.

Sugiatno stated at the meeting, held on September 12-13, 2022, that the MRLL would be applied on 10 roads around the airport, Seminyak, Sanur, Jimbaran, as well as Nusa Dua areas.

“Furthermore, we will allocate time to hold the tactical floor game (TFG) along with the regional police and we will conduct the dissemination (on MRLL) later. The dissemination will be conducted to the community as well as tourism actors in Bali and outside Bali, so they also know about traffic engineering for the G20 Summit," the director general stated.

Sugiatno said his side is aware that the international event will affect the mobility of tourists and local residents, so he expects the MRLL to be able to prevent traffic congestion on roads traversed by the G20 delegates.

Meanwhile, 30 electric buses will be deployed to serve delegates of the G20 Summit, some of which were provided from the cities of Bandung and Surabaya by applying the Buy the Service (BTS) scheme.

Meanwhile, the rest were readied through the procurement of Red and White Electric Buses by the Land Transportation Directorate General of the Transportation Ministry in collaboration with the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology of the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry as well as state-owned train manufacturer PT Industri Kereta Api Indonesia (INKA).
