Banda Aceh, Aceh (ANTARA) - Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini confirmed that the disbursement of fuel cash assistance, on average, had surpassed the 90-percent mark in Aceh.

"As of today, I saw the data, and there are only two regions in Aceh Province that have not reached 90 percent, Banda Aceh City, with 88.65 percent, and Aceh Jaya (District), which has only reached 60 percent. The achievements of other regions in Aceh are above 90 percent," the minister noted during her working visit here on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Social Affairs is distributing fuel cash assistance to 20.65 million beneficiary families, with the amount totaling Rp12.4 trillion, through the state-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia.

Rismaharini remarked that the number of assistance beneficiaries in Aceh reached 516,197 families spread across 23 districts and cities in the province.

According to the minister, assistance disbursement in the province through PT Pos Indonesia has so far been running smoothly.

She noted that every beneficiary family receives Rp150 thousand per month. Currently, in the first phase, the beneficiaries receive a total of Rp300 thousand that is accumulated from September and October. Moreover, they receive non-cash food assistance (BPNT) of Rp200 thousand.

"Thus, on average, they receive Rp500 thousand (per family)," she remarked.

The beneficiaries will receive the cash again in December for the second phase, which will be accumulated from November and December.

She expressed optimism that the distribution of fuel cash assistance will continue to run smoothly, so that the aid can quickly help the community.

Fuel cash assistance is one of the government's social assistance packages after diverting fuel subsidies.

The central government also provides Rp9.6 trillion for wage subsidy assistance to 16 million workers, whose maximum salary is Rp3.5 million per month. Each beneficiary will receive Rp600 thousand.

Furthermore, the central government has urged local governments to allocate two percent of the general transfer fund, including the general allocation fund (DAU) and revenue sharing fund (DBH), worth Rp2.17 trillion, to support the transportation sector and provide additional social protection.
