For the social assistance program to be on target, we keep improving the data
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini emphasized that the ministry continues to update data of eligible recipients of all types of social assistance, including direct cash assistance for purchasing fuel (BLT BBM).

"For the social assistance program to be on target, we keep improving the data," Rismaharini remarked here on Tuesday.

On Monday (September 12), Rismaharini attended an open dialogue to discuss about the fuel price hike that was held by a student organization called Cipayung Plus Group in Menteng, Jakarta.

The open dialogue began with a presentation from 11 students, who are the presidents of each organization. They expressed their views on the increase in fuel prices and the direct cash assistance recipients.

Among other invited guests, Minister Rismaharini conveyed several steps taken by the ministry for optimizing the social aid distribution, such as routinely updating data. She also called on BLT recipients to register themselves with the village heads to be recorded in the data, based on Law No. 13 of 2011 on the Handling of the Poor and Needy.

Hence, Rismaharini expected that the updated data could reduce the number of missed BLT eligible recipients, who did not receive the social aid.

"If a region says it is not capable, then just propose (for assistance). However, if they are considered capable, then they must be dropped (their eligibility)," she remarked.

The data update conducted every month contributes to the ministry's Integrated Data of Social Welfare and Population and Civil Registry Office's data.

Furthermore, she told students that the ministry accommodates society with the feedback feature on the Social Aid Check (Cek Bansos) application that allows them to give inputs through the app, whether the BLT recipient is already on target or not.

The Cek Bansos app is deemed to help reduce exclusion and inclusion errors, wherein some assistance was received by non-eligible people.
