"I would like to thank all the donors, our friends, who have been helping us all this time to ease the burden on our brothers and sisters, who really need our help," the minister noted in Banda Aceh on Wednesday.
M. Khaidir, a man from North Aceh, with a physical disability, who needed a prosthetic limb; Azkiya Ramadhani, a child from Simeulue, who was undergoing treatment for intestinal blockage at the Zainoel Abidin Hospital; and M. Syairazi, a heart disease patient from North Aceh, received financial assistance raised from the kitabisa.com platform -- a fundraising website -- as well as assistance from the Social Affairs Ministry.
From the funding pooled into the kitabisa.com platform, Khaidir received Rp117.5 million in assistance, Ramadhani obtained Rp61.1 million, and Syairazi received Rp129.6 million.
In addition, through the ministry's social rehabilitation assistance program, Azkiya Ramadhani received assistance worth Rp15.6 million; Syairazi, Rp24.9 million; and Khaidir, Rp19.1 million.
The Social Affairs Ministry stated that the value of assistance for each person was different according to the data uploaded in a fundraising effort through the kitabisa.com platform.
"Hence, each of them received (assistance) in accordance with the donations given. Today, there are three people. After this I will go to Medan to hand over four aids in Medan for those in need," Minister Rismaharini remarked.
The minister said that public fundraising efforts, like those made through the kitabisa.com platform, truly helped the ministry in serving residents in need of assistance.
"The Social Affairs Ministry does not have a budget to help them, so I have to look for donations from kitabisa for them, and thank God, we can realize this assistance for them," she remarked.
