Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry is seeking to reduce the administrative burden on higher education lecturers by integrating existing applications.

"I observed that there were 72 information system applications. There were too many, and over these two years, we have tried to integrate (them). This is one of the efforts we have carried out so that the process of requesting data from lecturers and universities can be minimal," director general of higher education at the ministry, Prof. Nizam, said here on Wednesday.

The 72 applications have been integrated into 20 applications, each of which is connected and equipped to exchange data.

"For example, in terms of (lecturers') promotion, (the data) can be integrated with the system. With one information system SINTA (Science and Technology Index), the (data of) lecturers’ careers has been automatically collected in one information system," he explained.

Nizam said that the ministry will continue to improve its efforts so that the promotion of lecturers can be done semi-automatically.

"So, if (the lecturers) have worked and gained achievements; if they have met the conditions, then it is time for them to be promoted," he explained.

According to him, universities can propose lecturers' promotions and the ministry will process the submission. That way, it is expected that there would be little administrative burden on lecturers, and the Directorate General of Higher Education will conduct the service efficiently, he explained.

Some information system applications launched by the ministry in 2021 that sought to reduce the administrative burden on lecturers include the lecturers' credit assessment page (PAK), the Selancar (tracking system) PAK Mobile, SISTER BKD (Integrated Resource Information System of Lecturers' Workload), API Portfolio SISTER, and Command Center and Dashboard for Key Performance Indicators.
