We expect that by the end of 2023, there will not be an inch of land in IKN (and its surrounding areas) which would not have any spatial plan.
Samarinda, E Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Head of the National Capital (IKN) Authority Bambang Susantono held a public consultation to obtain inputs from various stakeholders on the detailed spatial planning (RDTR) for the new capital Nusantara.

"Spatial planning is a very important reference to provide various certainties, both business certainty, living certainty, and others," he remarked in a statement received here on Wednesday.

At the public consultation, which was held in Balikpapan city, East Kalimantan province, on Tuesday (September 13, 2022), community members shared their aspirations for the improvement of the IKN RDTR with the IKN Authority.

The agency’s head informed that the RDTR would become the foundation of spatial planning for the new capital city for the next few years.

He projected that the development of the future capital city will be carried out in five to 10 years, starting in 2024.

Hence, his party invited the public to review the RDTR document and provide feedback on the planning.

"Later, the spatial plan will be ratified in the regulation of the head of the IKN Authority since we have been asked to prepare a legal basis for the detailed spatial planning, including laws, government regulations, presidential regulations, to head of authority regulations," he informed.

Meanwhile, the director of national spatial planning at the Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Ministry, Pelopor, said that the establishment of the RDTR will ease the licensing process for all activities in the IKN area.

"God willing, this year, the plans for the remaining areas, including Simpang Samboja, Kuala Samboja, and Muara Jawa, will be completed. We expect that by the end of 2023, there will not be an inch of land in IKN (and its surrounding areas) which would not have any spatial plan," he added.

Currently, the ministry is working on the RDTR for five areas—Development Area (WP) 3 of Southern IKN region, WP 6 of Northern IKN region, WP 7 of Simpang Samboja, WP 8 of Kuala Samboja, and WP 9 of Muara Jawa.

In addition, there are four RDTRs that are still being discussed: WP 1 of the Central Government Core Area (KIPP), WP 2 of Western IKN region, WP 4 of Eastern IKN region 1, as well as WP 5 of Eastern IKN region 2.
