Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Widodo visited Langgur Market, Southeast Maluku District, Maluku Province, on Thursday to review and provide social assistance to eligible beneficiaries.

They arrived around 7.04 a.m. local time and were welcomed by the Head of Southeast Maluku District, Muhamad Thaher Hanubun; Head of the Industry, Trade, and Manpower Office, M. Arsyad Jabkenyanan; and the Head of Langgur Market, H. Narwadanubun.

People lined up along the road in Langgur Market and enthusiastically welcomed the President and occasionally shouted the President’s name.

"Mr. Jokowi, Mr. Jokowi," they called out.

One of the teenagers appeared to approach Widodo for an autograph. The teenager was seen shedding tears and handing a piece of paper and a pen to the President.

During his visit, the President was also accompanied by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto.

After visiting Langgur Market, the President and Mrs. Iriana headed to Aru Islands District, Maluku Province, from Karel Sadsuitubun Langgur Airport, Southeast Maluku District, on an ATR 72-600 aircraft around 8.15 a.m. local time.
