Meanwhile, the second dose was administered to 21,632 recipients on Friday, bringing their total count to 171,040,441.
Meanwhile, 80,624 people received the third dose or booster vaccine, bringing their tally to 63,049,617.
Further, the total number of healthcare workers receiving the fourth vaccine dose or the second booster shot increased by 6,754 on Friday to reach 580,852.
The task force has raised its target for first dose recipients to 234,666,020 from 208,265,720 earlier.
Government spokesperson for COVID-19 handling and coordinator of the expert team, Wiku Adisasmito, asked local governments to increase the coverage of the third or first booster dose.
"All local governments are requested to ensure the availability of booster vaccines and immediately identify and encourage residents who have not received the booster," he said.
Booster vaccination needs to be pursued, including by enforcing regulations that require people to get the vaccine in order to access public facilities, he added.
He also urged people to not underestimate COVID-19 because the number of deaths in Indonesia is still relatively high.
"Once again, awareness for booster vaccines returns to each individual as a responsibility to protect themselves and others," he said. (
