With the new recoveries, the total number of patients recovering from COVID-19 since March 2020 reached 6,253,317, data received from the task force on Thursday showed.
The highest number of COVID-19 recoveries were recorded in Jakarta province at 967, followed by West Java (776), Banten (437), East Java (191), and Central Java (77), the task force reported.
Meanwhile, the number of daily COVID-19 cases reached 2,003 on Thursday, with Jakarta contributing 781 cases, West Java 347 cases, East Java 248 cases, Banten 187 cases, and Central Java 95 cases.
With the additional infections, the total number of confirmed positive cases since March 2020 reached 6,429,767.
The task force also recorded 17 deaths, with Central Java reporting four deaths; Jakarta, East Java, and North Sulawesi each recording three deaths; Riau witnessing two deaths; and NTT and Maluku each reporting one death.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases, including COVID-19 patients who are still undergoing treatment and self-isolation, reached 18,357, a decline of 828 compared to the previous day. In addition, 4,528 suspected cases were detected on Thursday.
These results were obtained based on the testing of 66,041 specimens obtained from 32,935 people in hundreds of laboratories across Indonesia.
The daily positivity rate for specimens was pegged at 6.32 percent and people at 6.08 percent.
Earlier, coordinator of the expert team and government spokesperson for COVID-19 handling, Wiku Adisasmito, had said that the pandemic situation in Indonesia has been stable since March 2022.
"In Indonesia, COVID-19 conditions have stabilized since the last peak in March due to the Omicron variant. We experienced another increase in August, but the number was not significant," he informed.
Active cases and positive rates also continued to decline with the national bed occupancy rate (BOR) stable at 5 percent, he added.
