"The Pre-Employment Card is the success story of the government in transforming the education system," he remarked while delivering a virtual speech at the “Pre-Employment Card Alumni Gathering” in Bontang city, East Kalimantan, on Friday.
The Pre-Employment Card Program allows capacity building and provision of training in new skills to prospective workers and those who are already working.
Not only that, the program has also been successful in encouraging learning among adults. The learning process knows no boundaries; it is for everyone, regardless of age, Hartarto stressed.
"Moreover, the (job market) continues to change. So, we are constantly required to adapt," he pointed out.

Therefore, the Pre-Employment Card Program uses the latest information technology to enable access to training for millions of people, he said. In addition, partnerships with the private sector and universities have been established in order to provide training to hundreds, even thousands, of participants.
The results are already showing: Statistics Indonesia (BPS) reported that in the period from 2019 to 2020, the percentage of the workforce that had attended training was 10 percent. In 2022, it increased to 16.36 percent.
"With the majority being contributed from the Pre-Employment Card program training," the minister noted.
He advised training institutions to continue to improve the quality of modules, test methods, instructors, infrastructure, and services for pre-employment card beneficiaries.
He also told the alumni that in addition to skills, a good attitude and self-presentation are necessary.
