Jakarta (ANTARA) - The One Map Policy will support the progress of various national developments being pursued by the government, including recovery from the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Coordinating Economic Affairs Minister Airlangga Hartarto stated.

"The government has adopted various policies. One of the foundations of development is the One Map Policy," he remarked at the National Working Meeting on the One Map Policy here on Tuesday.

Hartarto said that the policy was a program aimed at creating a reference standard as a unified, accurate, and accountable geo-portal database to support national development.

This policy came into fruition to address the issue of overlapping spatial use and agrarian conflicts that impeded infrastructure development and economic equity across Indonesia.

This prompted the president to establish the policy, through Presidential Regulation Number 9 of 2016 regarding Acceleration of the One Map Policy at the Map Accuracy Rate of 1:50,000 Scale.

As a form of the government's commitment, they also issued another regulation as a follow up to the policy, the regulation in question being Presidential Regulation Number 23 of 2021 on Amendments to Presidential Regulation Number 9 of 2016 .

The minister explained that the main activities of the One Map Policy Program entail compiling, integrating, and synchronizing thematic geospatial information and sharing data through the national geospatial information network (JIGN).

Hartarto remarked that this product was distributed to ministers, heads of institutions, governors, head of districts, and mayors and it was used to support policies derived from the Job Creation Act, specifically the online single submission (OSS) application.

"It has also been pursued, data consolidation, to (address the) overlapping utilization, including for several sectors, including the palm oil sector," he concluded.
