In fact, the absence of such data can cause a deviation in state budget expenditure
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Data collected under the Social Economic Registration (Regsosek) Program would become a basis for the government to take an accurate policy, National Development Planning Minister/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Suharso Monoarfa remarked.

"Sometimes, we see it as insignificant data. However, in fact, the absence of such data can cause a deviation in the state budget expenditure," Monoarfa stated during a discussion on Regsosek here on Monday.

Social Economic Registration, or Regsosek, is a data-collecting activity undertaken by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) for all Indonesians that covers diverse social and economic conditions and profiles.

It includes demographics, housing, disabilities, asset ownership, and geospatial information.

The data collected from October 15 to November 14, 2022, would identify citizens eligible to receive social aid after being crosschecked with the government's parent data.

As many as 2,700 data centers across Indonesia managed by the Communication and Informatics Ministry could help update the Regsosek data on a regular basis.

"Hopefully, with the Regsosek program, information on citizens can be updated, especially regarding the quality of design and budget of the program in line with the development target as well as its evaluation," he remarked.

The One Data Indonesia -- an initiative to enhance interoperability and utilization of the government's data -- could be applied by the subsequent administration for better coordination and policy synchronization, the minister remarked.

He noted that Bappenas would continue to enhance coordination in collecting data for development planning in all regions in the country in order to achieve the target of the government's working plan.

BPS Head Margo Yuwono earlier noted that the socio-economic data sharing can be conducted automatically, including in the data updating process.

"Since Regsosek is the integration of all data collecting systems, and any updates in data systems in ministries and institutions will automatically update the Regsosek data," he remarked.
