Malang, Jawa Timur (ANTARA) - The total number of victims in the Kanjuruhan Stadium tragedy in Malang District, East Java, on October 1 has reached 754, including casualties and the injured, according to the Malang District Health Office.

"The last data is 132 deaths, 596 victims with minor and moderate injuries, and 26 victims with major injuries; the total tally is 754 people," Head of the office Wijanto Wijoyo confirmed here on Thursday.

He said that the number of victims with minor and moderate injuries fluctuated due to some victims continuing to seek medical treatment at hospitals in Malang weeks after the disaster.

Some victims complained that their pain did not recede, hence they decided to return to hospitals, he explained.
