Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA) - The distribution of the first phase of fuel cash assistance (BLT BBM) and staple goods cash assistance in Central Sulawesi has reached 100 percent, the province’s Social Office has informed.

"From September 3 to October 14, 2022, the distribution of social assistance to beneficiary families has been fulfilled, even though there are still some failed disbursements," Head of the Central Sulawesi Social Office Siti Hasbiah said here on Saturday.

For beneficiaries with failed disbursement status, especially those who are currently outside the region, the assistance will be provided in accordance with the policy of the Social Affairs Ministry, which has extended the disbursement by seven days, she informed.

However, the policy is not applicable to beneficiaries who have changed their domicile or moved out of the region, as well as beneficiaries who have died.

"We hope the target beneficiary families who are still outside the city can immediately return to collect the assistance from the Post Office so that the funds can be disbursed quickly. The disbursal process will be assisted by the Social Office officers and community social workers (PSM)," she said.

Data from the Central Sulawesi Social Office showed that out of the total 241,547 beneficiaries, 5,344 beneficiaries have not received the disbursement, while 236,547 have received the aid.

The provincial government of Central Sulawesi is continuously coordinating with the Social Offices in 13 districts and cities in the province to ensure that all beneficiaries receive the aid by the end of the extended period.

Fuel cash assistance is one of the social assistance packages provided by the government through the diversion of fuel subsidies.

The government has prepared a total budget of Rp12.4 trillion to provide fuel cash assistance for 20.65 million beneficiary families, which is being distributed through state-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia.

Under the assistance program, each beneficiary family will receive Rp150 thousand per month for a period of four months, and the disbursement will be conducted in two phases, with each beneficiary family receiving Rp300 thousand in September and another Rp300 thousand in December this year.
