We are happy because the government provides incentives for companies that focus on migrationJakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) continues to conduct migration of conventional oil-fueled vehicles to electric vehicles in pursuit of efficiency and boosting productivity in managing the logistics business that is closely related to travel.
Director of Courier and Logistics Business of Pos Indonesia Siti Choiriana remarked that electric vehicles did not only provide benefits for the company but also for the environment, as the emissions produced are much lower.
"Our strategy is to gradually replace conventional vehicles with electric vehicles," Choiriana noted in a statement here Sunday.

Currently, the government provides a strong instrument to accelerate the formation of an electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia through various fiscal incentives.
Choiriana, commonly called Ana, assessed that various incentives provided by the government for electric vehicles are a breath of fresh air, especially for the domestic logistics industry that focuses on renewing their vehicles that originally used fuel to produce electricity.
"We are happy because the government provides incentives for companies that focus on migration," she explained.
On the basis of earlier reports, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources revealed that electric motorcycles can save fuel by up to 60 percent as compared to using gasoline-fueled motorcycles.
In 2021, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources conducted a road test of 100 units of converted electric motorcycles. The hundred motorbikes passed the test and were deemed roadworthy for 10 thousand kilometers for 48 days by traveling uphill, downhill, stuck in traffic conditions in rain or heat conditions, and getting blue license plates from the police.

The conversion program provides benefits in the form of fuel savings of one liter per day per unit or a total of 34 kiloliters per year and a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of 0.72 tons per day per unit or a total of 24.4 thousand tons of carbon dioxide per year.
Ana further remarked that Pos Indonesia currently has at least 10 units of electric cars and 200 units of electric motorcycles. This year, the company targets all vehicles in the Bali Post Office area to completely switch to electric vehicles.
Bali is the peak location for the implementation of the G20 Presidency, so Pos Indonesia is accelerating the implementation of the electric vehicle program to demonstrate Indonesia's seriousness in carrying out an energy transition program to the world.
"Currently, we have 30 units, but our target is not many, around 100 units in Bali. We will quickly accelerate the entire thing, so that later, we can declare and in total Bali can use electricity," Ana remarked.
In addition to encouraging migration from conventional fuel vehicles to electric vehicles, Pos Indonesia has utilized renewable energy sourced from solar power plants (PLTS) for post offices in Bali.
Ahead of the peak of the G20 Presidency, several delegates stopped by the Nusa Dua Post Office in Bali to buy stamps or send packages.
Pos Indonesia made the post office there as a showcase on the use of renewable energy and electric vehicles by the Indonesian logistics industry.
