WAITRO is a platform for researchers to seek cooperation opportunities in the form of research, technology transfer, human resources capacity development, funding access, and various other awards, she explained.

She said she expects her re-appointment to WAITRO's executive board for the 2023–2024 period to not only provide benefits for BRIN, but also bring WAITRO member countries in Asia-Pacific to the global level.

According to Astuti, collaboration is the key to successfully strengthening the capacity of WAITRO member countries.

Within the past year, BRIN has actively participated in WAITRO activities, including winning the WAITRO Innovation Award, sending several expert speakers for various workshops, and hosting the 90th council meeting.
