The results of the G20 have created quite a lot of potential cooperation opportunities in various fields and levels
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The events organized successfully during Indonesia's G20 Presidency have created a number of opportunities and agreements for cooperation, the director general of international trade negotiations at the Trade Ministry, Djatmiko Bris Witjaksono, has said.

"The results of the G20 have created quite a lot of potential cooperation opportunities in various fields and levels," he observed when contacted on Friday.

G20 is an international forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union that work together to handle major issues. Indonesia held the presidency of the grouping this year. The G20 Summit was held in Bali on November 15–16, 2022.

According to Witjaksono, the G20 meetings have resulted in several agreements on initiatives in the food, energy, and health sectors that could be followed up by business actors.

"Those sectors can be followed up by entrepreneurs. For example, related to the supply chain for wheat and other foods," he said.

In addition, the supporting events and the main G20 events, which involved many micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), opened business opportunities for business actors in the country.

"Meanwhile, from the service side, they also offered many benefits and opportunities, including for the tourism, digital, to transportation sectors," he noted.

Indonesia's G20 Presidency culminated with the G20 Bali Leaders' Declaration.

The declaration consists of 52 paragraphs and includes agreements on several important points regarding war and energy crisis handling.

Indonesia's G20 Presidency also resulted in concrete deliverables, including a list of cooperation projects between G20 countries and guest countries, such as the construction of solar power plants (PLTS), EV batteries, construction and revitalization of ports, restoration of coral reefs, renewable energy, and blue infrastructure, among others.

In addition, Indonesia obtained around US$8 billion in investment commitment from the series of G20 Summit events.
