The BRIN adopts the concept of open research facility, so we open the opportunity to researchers in Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly pressed for the Indonesian people to be ready to face the war of innovation and creation amid progress of the era marked by the 4.0 era.

"Like it or not, the war of creation and innovation is very important," Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly noted at a seminar here Monday.

In other words, people can no longer rely on or depend on existing natural resources. There must be creativity and innovation that is born. The goal is that the acceleration of technology, the digital revolution, and industry can spur a country's economic growth.

On the occasion, he said that intellectual property is an exclusive right that arises from thinking and gives rise to a product and is useful for humans, whether it is in the form of art, objects, and so forth.

The minister remarked that the intellectual property owned by Indonesia must be linked to technological progress since in the era of 4.0 and 5.0, it will be in direct contact with technology.

"Not only that, the protection system is also important and must be in line with the global trade system without a time limit," he remarked.

In line with this, Acting Director General of Intellectual Property at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Razilu stated that the roving seminar was one of the 16 flagship programs in 2022 that was implemented along with Yasonna Mendengar.

Razilu remarked that the flagship programs had been successfully implemented, with some of them having delivered notable results.

The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) earlier provided open research and innovation facilities to all parties, including researchers from universities, public community, regional governments, and non-governmental organizations.

"The BRIN adopts the concept of open research facility, so we open the opportunity to researchers in Indonesia," Head of BRIN's Earth and Maritime Research Organization, Ocky Karna Radjasa, noted in a webinar here, Thursday.

Radjasa urged all parties to optimally utilize the existing research and innovation infrastructure in BRIN to improve the quality and quantity of research and innovation in Indonesia.
