Moeldoko made the remarks at an online gathering with Aceh alumni of the Pre-Employment Card on Wednesday.
“The Pre-Employment Card has proven to be an effective stepping stone in getting a job. Moreover, I believe that alumni, who receive Pre-Employment Cards, can also create jobs for others using entrepreneurial activities from the training they have received," he noted in a press release here on Wednesday.
He remarked that since its launch in April 2020, over 16 million people across 34 provinces and 514 districts and cities had reaped benefits from it. He considered that this achievement was notable, given that only 170 people were involved in the program's management.
“Really very efficient. The service is also accountable. It would not be wrong for the Corruption Eradication Commission to state that the Pre-Employment Card Program should be used as a model for other public services,” he noted.
Moeldoko reminded that improvements to the Pre-Employment Card Program were necessary for, as it would face several issues, particularly since the normal scheme would be adopted for the program next year.
“Next year will no longer be 'semi social assistance' like it is right now. This means that in future, there will still be several things to do, and I expect that the challenge can be addressed properly by the management," he explained.
In Aceh, the Pre-Employment Card Program has benefited over 440 thousand people. Most beneficiaries of Pre-Employment Cards in Aceh are young people with high school education or its equivalent.
The Pre-Employment Card Program was coined by President Joko Widodo in February 2019 and began to be implemented on April 11, 2020, or a day after the imposition of large-scale activities restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
