We are not only pushing the SDG ideals, but also realizing them.Jakarta (ANTARA) - It is important to continue with sustainable development amid the current global challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Development Planning Ministry has said.
The global community will also face a food crisis, whose handling may reduce the allocation of funds for realizing the SDG target, head of the National Secretariat for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the ministry Vivi Yulaswati remarked at the 2022 SDGs Annual Conference here on Friday.
Hence, she emphasized the importance of collaboration among all parties, especially between government and non-government actors, for achieving the green economy targets to realize Indonesia's 2045 Vision.
"Concrete action from all of you and the cooperation of all parties is urgently needed for the acceleration (of efforts to achieve the targets),” she said.
In particular, it is important to strengthen the regulatory framework on the green economy based on Presidential Decree Number 111 of 2022 regarding achieving the SDG targets, the official said.
It is also necessary to mainstream the regulatory framework in the Mid-Term National Development Program (RPJMN) and Long-Term National Development Program (RPJPN), she added.
Indonesia is not only targeting to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060, but also attain economic growth of 6.1–6.5 percent year on year by 2050 through the implementation of the green economy, which is estimated to create 1.8 million green jobs in 2030.
Low-carbon and climate-resilient development will be the backbone of Indonesia's green economy transformation, she noted.

She also shared a report from the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific entitled “Asia and the Pacific SDG Progress Report 2022.”
At the conference, which was themed “Encouraging Green Economy Implementation to Achieve SDGs,” the National Development Planning Ministry, Regional Autonomy Monitoring Committee, as well as Association of District Governments in Indonesia also launched a Sustainable Regional Competitiveness Index.
The index aims to assess the progress and competitiveness of the implementation of sustainable development in regions.
