"By simplifying administrative work, one of which is through the E-Report card application, teachers will be able to realize more qualified learning quality. The development of this application aims to simplify the reporting process of learning outcomes," director of elementary schools at the ministry, Muhammad Hasbi, informed during a discussion on the use of the independent curriculum E-report cards in Jakarta on Friday.
With the E-Report cards, teachers only need to input one final grade for one subject along with a description of competencies, Hasbi explained.
However, teachers will still have to carry out a comprehensive assessment based on written tests, portfolios, observations, and interviews, among others, he added.
Hasbi said he hopes that the E-Reports will help teachers evaluate students by observing their competency achievements and evaluating learning outcomes, especially at the elementary level.
In addition, the ministry's middle expert policy analyst at the Directorate of Elementary Schools, Eko Warisdiono, said that E-Reports are a form of service and support from the ministry to support the learning process and assessments carried out by educational units.
The E-Report application is optional, therefore, all educational units have a choice whether to use it or not, he added.
"Educational units that already have other applications can continue to use them. But if they want to use this application as a process for assessment, it will be very good," he said.
According to him, E-Report has many advantages, including that it is convenient to use and can connect directly to Basic Education Data (Dapodik).
"Teachers who process grades through this application can be synced directly to Dapodik. That is one of the advantages," he said.
