Magelang, Central Java (ANTARA) - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, along with 264 customary kings and representatives of traditional institutions, watched a cultural parade in the Borobudur Temple area on Saturday.

"Of course, we are happy and moved because of the participation of 264 kingdoms and indigenous institutions here," Pranowo noted at the Nusantara Customary Culture Festival II here on Saturday.

The cultural parade presented several Bregada, or royal palace soldiers from various districts and cities in Central Java and Yogyakarta.

It started at the Supardi Field and concluded at the Kujon Field, Magelang, at a distance of about three kilometers.

Governor Pranowo was flaked by Chairperson of the Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (MATRA) Andi Bau Malik Barammamase and Chairperson of the MATRA Founding Board His Royal Highness Prince Mangku Alam II.

After the event, the governor admitted to being impressed and moved, as the event was held in a lively manner.

He noted that the event was quite interesting, as it involved the community directly, and it became a medium to introduce various arts and cultures of the archipelago.

"It was interesting, a lot of children and residents could all watch the parade. If this is done continuously, it will be an exciting new event," he affirmed.

He expressed optimism that the cultural events held by these customary kings would drive tourism, especially in Central Java.

"Hopefully, they would travel here and exchange experiences and beauty (of the culture), so that they can collaborate. In addition, they can preserve and develop arts and culture that can emphasize that Indonesia is rich in culture. Do not forget to register (the art and culture), so that it is not claimed by others," he emphasized.

Moreover, the public can enjoy the Central Java micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) exhibition at the Kujon Field.
