The activity is a manifestation of the Indonesian Navy's (TNI AL's) care for local people's health.
Manado, N Sulawesi (ANTARA) - The Main Naval Base VIII in North Sulawesi Province provided free medical and dental services to residents near the Sumompo landfill in Manado on Friday.

"The activity is a manifestation of the Indonesian Navy's (TNI AL's) care for local people's health," Commander of the Main Naval Base VIII First Admiral Nouldy J. Tangka noted in a written statement released in Manado on Saturday.

He said the activity was aimed at offering concrete contributions to the public in the health field as a manifestation of TNI AL's care to improve the quality of public health.

"May this activity help the public alleviate its burden, particularly in improving its health in this current situation," he affirmed.

The activity involved healthcare workers of the Main Naval Base's Health Service and Dr Wahyudi Slamet Naval Hospital in Blitung, North Sulawesi. A total of 153 patients visited the free health service.

Of the total, 145 patients received medical treatment and eight patients received dental service.

The activity was also part of a series of activities to mark the anniversary of the Indonesian Fleet 2022. On the occasion, the Naval base also distributed basic commodities to local residents.
