Jakarta (ANTARA) - Investment has a very strong correlation with the development of tourist destinations as well as creative economy centers, industry and investment acting deputy at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Rizki Handayani, has said.

"Promotion toward the potential of tourism investment will become one of the matters that will be strengthened by the ministry in 2023," she informed in a statement issued on Saturday.

Promoting tourism investment opportunities necessitates providing in-depth information, such as on the regulation as well as infrastructure plan that will be developed nationally and regionally, she added.

This would make the effort to search for potential investors that match the characteristics of the destination easier.

"Do not think that investment always has to be big; it can also be done at the scale of MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises)," she said during the “2022 Tourism and Creative Economy National Coordination Meeting.”

"If this continues, this will mobilize jobs in the industry," she added.

In addition, the ministry will strengthen financing access for tourism and creative economy actors. There will also be standardization, business certification, and industry management strengthening.

During the meeting, director of financing access at the ministry, Anggara Hayun Anujuprana, said that there will be five financing access working groups next year.

They will comprise the bank and financial technology, specific financing, government fund, community fund, and the Indonesia Spice Up the World (ISUTW) working groups.

"This working group (ISUTW) is in accordance with the President's instruction to support the development of Indonesian spice and restaurants abroad," he informed.

The coordination meeting was held on December 15–16, 2022, in a hybrid format. It was themed “Inclusive and Sustainable Transformation of Tourism and Creative Economy."

The coordination meeting discussed three main issues, including the tourism and creative economy program transformation.

The second issue was efforts to expedite strategic programs, and the last concerned encouraging the safe, comfortable, and resilient movement of Indonesian and international tourists.
