Non-military threats are also well recognizedJakarta (ANTARA) - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko has stressed that the government understands the dynamics that can play out in a political year so it can anticipate potential threats and find effective ways to deal with them.
"Regarding the dynamics of Indonesian politics in regional head elections and general elections, we seem to have understood," he said.
He made the statement in answer to a question about the readiness of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) to guard and anticipate security disturbances during the political year after the “Final and Beginning of the Year Notes” event of KSP, which was held at the National Library Auditorium here on Tuesday.
As a former army commander, he said he understood the situation in the political year because he also took part in overseeing election security when he was commander in chief.
He observed that the conditions of the current political year would not change much from previous years since all political configurations and the constellation of relations between political parties could be understood.
"Non-military threats are also well recognized. Hence, the government can instruct what kind of potential threats and how to act effectively. I think this has been prepared," he said.
