Light waves from smartphone screens can penetrate deeper into the skin's layers than the sun's UV rays.
Hence, this risk can cause premature aging. This can occur due to the duration of continuous smartphone use.
"Oxidative stress on the skin accelerates skin aging, causing black spots on the skin and darkness on the skin," Widiasri noted.
The doctor advised those with smartphones to use their gadgets wisely for the sake of skin health. In addition to oxidative stress on the skin, it can have a negative effect on other organs of the body.
"Hence, if there are unusual conditions in the body due to smartphone use, then it can be immediately consulted with a trusted team of experts to find the cause and find a solution," she stated.
Widiasri remarked that smartphone use can indeed help in some activities, but using it excessively can also have a negative impact.
The benefits that can be obtained from a smartphone is that the device can be used optimally. However, there is also a negative side that emanates from the use of smartphone.
