Director general of development of industrial relations and social security at the Manpower Ministry Indah Anggoro Putri said that issuance of the policy meant that some other items derived from the Job Creation Law would be adjusted.
Putri delivered the statement at a virtual press conference accessed here on Friday.
"We are working on revising the government regulation," Putri remarked.
Some measures will be taken to revise them, ranging from the internal scope of the ministry in which they would discuss changes in the substance of the affected regulations.
Results of the discussion will thereafter be conveyed to the National Tripartite Collaboration Agency (LKS Tripartit), an institution comprising representatives from the government, workers, and employers.
She ensured that once the government already had a concept on revisions, it would be brought to the agency to see if it can provide any inputs or suggestions.
Putri stated that Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah tasked her with completing the revision of the PP regarding employment at the earliest.
"We are working carefully. As soon as possible does not mean that what is ordered today can be finished at night," she explained.
On December 30, 2022, Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced the issuance of Government Regulation in lieu of a law (Perppu) following urgent need to anticipate global issues.
With the new policy coming into effect, revisions to the employment cluster will be conducted on some regulations derived from the Job Creation Law.
Some of these regulations include Government Regulation Number 35 of 2021 about Work Agreements for a Specific Time, Outsourcing, Working Time and Break Time, and Termination of Employment and Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021 on salary.
