Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of National Development Planning and head of the National Development Planning Agency Suharso Monoarfa has said that Indonesia will entrench its maritime country status by its centenary in 2045.

The maritime country status would be realized through the maritime outlook that must be supported to enhance the quality of national development planning, particularly in drafting the national long-term development plan till 2045, he added.

"A maritime outlook would be distinct from the continental outlook. For the 2025–2045 National Long-Term Development Plan, we must prioritize the maritime outlook and streamline maritime affairs as our vision for 2045," Monoarfa said, according to a statement issued here on Friday.

One of the strategies that must be supported is better data analysis and optimization of evidence-based policy to ensure public policies benefit the people, the minister added.

Hence, issues must be made clear and data analysis must be optimized to improve policy options in the decision-making process, he added.

Besides, with a better outlook and quality planning, the 2025–2045 national long-term plan will be drafted by designating targets and goals for realizing equitable development throughout the nation, he said.

"We need a convergence in the achievements of the development, either on the national or local levels. We also need to push for economic growth aggregate in all aspects," Monoarfa added.

The minister affirmed that the national long-term plan for the 2025–2045 period will be drafted by considering public inputs in national development.
