Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) is revising the Indonesia Vision 2045 to align with the current developments.

"We will revise and adjust the Vision 2045 that we conceived in 2016-2017. Hence, we will reconstruct the Indonesia Vision 2045 this year," the ministry's Deputy for Economic Affairs Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti stated, as observed virtually here, Thursday.

In the discussion titled "The Future is Now: Collaborative action to achieve Indonesia Vision 2045," Widyasanti remarked that the revision will be included in the 2025-2045 National Long Term Development Plan (RPJPN) that will be established as law.

"The legal basis will exist. It is not merely a vision or a dream, but it will bind us, not only for the government but also for the people that this is our common vision for Indonesia," she remarked.

The ministry is working full throttle to complete the 2025-2045 RPJPN in view of the target set for next March to allow for public consultation, where inputs and strategic recommendations from all parties are welcomed, taking place in the same month, the official stressed.

Widyasanti noted that entrenching the long-term development plan in legislation will make it the main reference for presidential and vice presidential candidates, who will submit their leadership vision and mission to the electoral organizer.

"We hope that the (RPJPN) bill can be finalized next September and can be the main reference for elected president and vice president," Widyasanti stated.

The Indonesia Vision 2045 is a roadmap document not only of the ideal state of the Indonesian nation in 2045 but also of the grand strategy to achieve development milestones until 2045, the official affirmed.

Meanwhile, Widyasanti remarked that Thursday's discussion aims to draft, consolidate, and synergize strategic issues through a discussion among relevant parties, including the government and the academic community.

Widyasanti noted that her side will organize other activities and follow-up discussions to take into account public aspirations and inputs regarding the Indonesia Vision 2045.
