Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga firmly believes that everyone has the responsibility to explore the potential of Indonesian children and not just their parents.

"All Indonesian children are our children that we have to protect and support, so that they can become extraordinary state assets," she noted through in a statement on Thursday.

According to Puspayoga, children are state assets to support the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision.

"We protect this country, its unity, and this country must still remain a democratic country because all children will become its successors," she affirmed.

Children having potential but their economic circumstances hold them back should be helped or their parents should be supported in order to maximize their potential, she emphasized.

In connection with this, Puspayoga's ministry held the Women and Children Protection Service Provision Coordination Meeting in Denpasar, Bali.

Synergy between various stakeholders in the effort to improve protection service for women and children is expected to be realized through the coordination meeting.

The endeavors encompass improving the quality of parenting, both by families and children rights-based institutions; reducing the number of incidents of violence against women and children; and eradicating child labor through the involvement of various parties.

Puspayoga also underscored the importance of fulfilling children's rights and reducing the number of child marriages through the application of the Child Marriage Prevention National Strategy (Stranas PPA) as a guideline.
