Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, stated that Polri's International Relations Division (Hubinter) had coordinated with related parties: the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Police Attache (Atpol) in Norway.
"We have asked for an update of this case to our Hubinter, and they have coordinated with the Foreign Affairs Ministry and regional police officers," Prasetyo remarked in Jakarta, Monday.
Coordination efforts have been made to track down AMRP's whereabouts since the lecturer was reported missing. However, until now, in terms of information, no development was reported, Prasetyo said.
UII Yogyakarta has sought the help of the National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol Indonesia to trace the whereabouts of its lecturer, who reportedly went missing after attending a global mobility activity at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN).
The campus has communicated with the Indonesian Embassy in Oslo and the Indonesian Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, that has coordinated with local authorities.
Prasetyo reported that the UII Yogyakarta Crisis Center team has dug up digital footprints and confirmed that AMRP had left Oslo and was already in Istanbul based on his Google Drive activity that was signed out on February 13, 2023, at 3:57 local time.
The Crisis Center team also found that AMRP was able to connect to the internet through an eduVPN Virtual Private Network connection that led to the UII Campus where it was accessed around Istanbul from 19:00-23:00 local time on February 12, 2023.
Information on the findings of the digital footprint has been received by the Indonesian Embassy in Oslo.
The Oslo police also confirmed that immigration records at Oslo Airport showed that AMRP was no longer in Schengen on February 12, 2023.
In addition, the latest data from UII Yogyakarta's official website on Sunday found that the United States Customs and Border Protection (US CBP) recorded his entrance to the United States through Boston Airport on February 13, 2023.
However, the exact location of AMRP in Boston is unknown. UII Yogyakarta also does not know the reason of his visit to Boston on his return from Oslo via Istanbul. Until now, his family and UII Yogyakarta have not been able to contact him.
Earlier, AMRP had traveled to Oslo, Norway, on February 4, 2023, as part of a campus assignment to take part in global activities at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in Norway.
AMRP should have returned on February 12 via Istanbul with a Turkish Airlines flight and have landed at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on February 16.
Contact was reportedly lost with the lecturer in the Informatics Department at the UII Faculty of Informatics Engineering after he last communicated with his wife on Sunday afternoon (February 12) on his way home at Oslo Airport.
