Makassar (ANTARA) - South Sulawesi will seize the opportunity of Inacraft 2023 to promote local arts, crafts, and cultures to the global market, according to a statement released on Tuesday.

As the icon of Inacraft 2023, the province will carry the theme "From Smart Village to Global Market", Ahmadi Akil, Head of the South Sulawesi Industry Service, stated in the statement.

The largest handicraft exhibition in the country will take place in Jakarta on March 1-5.

Akil added that the exhibition will provide an opportunity for local artisans to recover from the pandemic and enter the global market.

"That is why the products on display have the potential to enter the international market," he said.

The craft products from South Sulawesi that will be exhibited include woven fabrics, weaving, pottery, metal crafts, and wood crafts.

Akil believes that enormous opportunities await the province's artisans to enter the broad market.

During the exhibition, South Sulawesi's government will showcase traditional dances, such as Panggelu from Toraja, Taro Mansado from East Luwu, and Tar Panggelai from Selayar.

Traditional music of Batti-batti, Pakacaping, and Turiolo will also enliven the five-day exhibition, the statement said.

The province's 24 regencies and cities will bring more than 100 handicraft products to the event.
