However, we see that the condition is safe and under control now.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Thirty-four persons who were confirmed to be infected with the CH.1.1, or Orthrus sub-variant of Omicron, between November 2022 and February 2023 in Jakarta have made a recovery, according to the Jakarta Health Office.
"The last finding of positive (result) of PCR (polymerase chain reaction test) was on February 9, 2023, and (the patient) has recovered (now),” head of surveillance, epidemiology, and immunization at the office, Ngabila Salama, informed here on Tuesday.
She said that the 34 Orthrus patients comprised 28 adults, 5 older adults, and 1 under-five child.
Twenty-two of which were recorded as residents of Jakarta, while the other 13 lived outside Jakarta.
“Twenty-five percent had no symptoms, 75 percent had mild symptoms," she added.
According to Salama, 10 percent of the patients had not been vaccinated at all, 15 percent had received 2 vaccine doses, and 75 percent had received 3 vaccine doses.
The first Orthrus infection in Jakarta was detected based on a real-time PCR test on November 4, 2022, and was categorized as a local transmission case.
Meanwhile, the first case of Kraken, or XBB.1.5 sub-variant of Omicron, in Jakarta was identified on December 23, 2022, based on a PCR test.
