The state-run postal company has been enlisted for distributing the assistance since many benefit recipients, including the elderly people and people living with disabilities, live far away from banks, Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini explained here on Thursday.
Thus, it was decided that if the social aid is not collected by recipients from the bank for several days, it will be distributed via PT Pos, she said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) II Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that the SOEs Ministry has conducted PKH evaluation for the past several years.
The evaluation has covered remote regions and people who live far away from the city. Based on the evaluation, it was decided that the distribution of social aid will be more effective through PT Pos since it can be provided house to house, he informed.
PT Pos Indonesia covers up to 250 regions, thus the distribution of social aid in 140 regions will be undertaken through the postal company.
People who are facing difficulties in collecting social aid or lacking information concerning this will be visited directly by PT Pos, he said.
The distribution will be based on photos as well as biometric data to ensure accurate delivery, he added.
According to the President Director of PT Pos Indonesia, Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, the company is distributing social aid using several methods.
The first method is where benefit recipients visit a post office based on the schedule, either in the morning or in the afternoon to obtain the aid.
The second method is where PT Pos Indonesia officials directly visit the community and recipients' homes.
