Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Social Affairs Ministry scratched out data of 10,249 beneficiary families that were ineligible for social aid from the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).

Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini stated that information from the scratched out data came from the findings by Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) via the directorate general of general legal administration (AHU) system.

"It is listed that the recipients of the social aid are directors or officials at the company. In fact, if you check, the people are poor, some are cleaning service, some are workers. They are listed as administrators or officials in the company, but in reality, they are poor," she pointed out.

As a follow up to the information from BPK, the ministry then froze the said data and removed it from the list.

The measure was taken after an examination of the distribution of basic food assistance by matching data of beneficiaries for the distribution of basic food aid with data from the directorate general's system.

Minister Rismaharini said that her administration had discussed the matter with Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly, so that later, there would be data checking before the company registers with the Law and Human Rights Ministry.

"I said last time, our decision, we must give shock therapy. We will cut, and then, they will say 'well, I am poor person'. Please complain to us later, we will evaluate it," the minister stated.

She said that the decision was taken, so that people would learn to be responsible for what they had done.

The minister said that her administration had discussed with law enforcement officials and universities regarding this solution.
