"If everything is done in a single integrated system, a consensus will be achieved as a manifestation of facilitating labor placement in a holistic and comprehensive way," he added at a government-private sector synchronization for labor placement services event.
He said the obstacles faced in digital transformation, especially in the manpower field, must be seen as an opportunity to improve and develop the ability of employment information officers and labor placement officers.
"Digital transformation should bring easier, cheaper, faster, and more accurate services closer to the community," he said.
Thus, digital transformation should prioritize the readiness and capacity of employment officers, he added.
The ministry is committed to improving digital skills, digital literacy, and digital collaboration as fundamental aspects of strengthening the role of employment officers.
"The development of digital services will have positive implications for achieving satisfactory services that are quick, efficient, and flexible," he observed.
He said that strengthening the strategic role of job placement officers must include digitally transforming the system of workers' placement to increase competitiveness.
"Without a breakthrough, Indonesia will experience a large potential loss, lagging behind other countries," he added.
Meanwhile, director of work introduction development at the Manpower Ministry Nora Kartika Setyaningrum said that collaboration in strengthening labor placement services is aimed at synergizing perspectives between stakeholders.
"From this collaboration, there is a commitment and agreement from all stakeholders to improve workforce placement services through strengthening the roles of employment officers and work introduction officers," she said.
Earlier, Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah said that efforts to increase the productivity and competitiveness of Indonesia's human resources require collaboration between the central and regional governments as well as institutions.
"What is needed now is synergy and collaboration. We cannot work alone," she added in a statement issued on Wednesday (March 8, 2023).
