Magelang, Central Java (ANTARA) - At least eight thousand people symbolically circled Mount Tidar in Magelang, Central Java, by holding hands together to mark the anniversary of the Public Order Security Agency (Satpol PP).

"The circling of hands of people around Mt Tidar reaches 7.8 kilometers, comprising those from Satpol PP, the Public Protection Unit (Satlinmas), the provincial fire department (Damkar), the military, the police, students, and the community," Head of the Central Java Satpol PP Budi Santoso remarked here on Wednesday.

According to Santoso, the anniversaries of Satpol PP, Satlinmas, and the fire department embodied the philosophy of "From Tidar, the nail of Java Island, to Indonesia" that meant all elements are ready to protect the republic and serve the community.

He stated that the three institutions are ready to make the 2024 general elections and regional elections a success.

In addition, he said, several national leaders, either in the military or police, were born in the Mt Tidar valleys and are spread across the country to maintain the nation's sovereignty.

Santoso highlighted that there are histories and legends of the struggle to maintain a balance of good behavior for realizing public harmony, order, peace, and protection.

He noted that the struggle to maintain public order is related to religious practices that do not conflict with the already existing local culture.

"The monumental (evidence) is on the top of Mount Tidar, where the Semar and Kyai Subakir graves are," he remarked.

He said, the three institutions -- Satpol PP, Satlinmas, and Damkar -- along with the community cooperate to fight poverty in districts and cities in the province by building livable houses.

"In addition, they serve the community in other forms for humanity," he remarked.

Regional Secretary of Central Java Sumarno stated that Satpol PP, Satlinmas, and Damkar have a role in maintaining the unity and wholeness of the nation.

"We have to collaborate. Mutual cooperation is the behavior of the Central Java people," he affirmed.
