Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture spotlighted the importance of marriage guidance for prospective brides and grooms to support the program of strengthening families' resilience and welfare.

"Marriage guidance is crucial to be carried out, so that prospective brides and grooms have the knowledge to plan and form a good and quality household," the ministry's Assistant Deputy for Family Resilience Indah Suwarni noted in a statement here on Wednesday.

Suwarni remarked that marriage guidance for prospective brides and grooms is provided by facilitators from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN).

She stated that the cooperation between the two ministries and BKKBN in providing marriage guidance had entered its third year.

The implementation of marriage guidance that includes efforts to prepare the knowledge of prospective brides and grooms in building a family and health screening had been running well, according to Suwarni.

She stated that information regarding the implementation of the marriage guidance program can be accessed at bimbinganperkawinan.kemenag.go.id.

The BKKBN has also provided the Ready for Marriage Ready for Pregnancy Electronic Application (Elsimil). Moreover, the Ministry of Health conducts health screening and reproductive health checks for prospective brides and grooms.

Under the marriage guidance provided directly at religious affairs offices (KUA), the materials include preparations for ensuring a peaceful family, fulfillment of the family's needs and financial management of the family, and reproductive health, as well as efforts to prepare a quality generation.

The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture continues to encourage an increase in the dissemination of information and education regarding the importance of marriage guidance for prospective brides and grooms, so that they would have the ability to manage the dynamics of a family.

"Dissemination of information and education regarding the importance of marriage guidance for prospective brides and grooms need to be strengthened and intensified to improve the community's understanding," Suwarni remarked.
