Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government has continued to prepare safe destinations for travelers so that their presence during the Eid holiday season can stimulate the regional economy and business opportunities, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said.

"Safe, comfortable, and enjoyable tourist destinations are now being prepared so that 124 million travelers during mudik (the homecoming season) can stimulate the economy and business opportunities," he said at the Presidential Palace here on Tuesday.

He underscored that this year, the government is focusing more on cleanliness, comfort, safety, and security as well as the environmental sustainability of tourist destinations.

This is different from the previous year, when the government prioritized the health sector, he said.

One of the government's efforts to stimulate the economy through tourism has been the launch of the e-booklet Mudik Exploring the Mosque #DiIndonesiaAja in order to welcome the homecoming season and the 1444 Hijriah Eid holiday.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, deputy for tourism products and activities organizers at the ministry, Vincent Jemadu, said the e-booklet has been launched in view of the increased mobility of tourists during the Eid holiday, with their number expected to reach 125 million to 130 million.

The launch of the e-booklet is part of the "Proud to Travel #DiIndonesiaAja" program, Jemadu added.

The launch aims to take advantage of the momentum of the homecoming season by providing information to travelers, including on tourist destinations along the homecoming route, especially unique mosques.
