Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia will showcase its food and beverage (F&B) industry's capability at the Hannover Messe 2023 industrial technology exhibition, the Ministry of Industry's Director General of Agro-Industry Putu Juli Ardika stated.

"We are keen to convince our prospective partners that we have good production, supply chain, and distribution systems to bolster development and become the foundation of production and export," Ardika noted at a press conference here, Monday.

The director general remarked that Indonesia has some advantages in terms of its base load for the F&B industry and potential resources as well as its ASEAN membership.

He affirmed that Indonesia's F&B industry has implemented digitization and automatization that are compliant with the Industry 4.0 principle.

Indonesia's participation in the Hannover Messe 2023 will drive the government's efforts to ensure good quality and production of food and beverage products made in Indonesia, he remarked.

Meanwhile, Ardika stated that the ministry will showcase Indonesia's industry products and the producer association at the exhibition through thematic and collaborative booths.

While the booth provided by the Association of Indonesian Food and Beverage Producers (Gapmmi) will showcase the implementation of Industry 4.0 in all aspects of F&B production in Indonesia, other booths will exhibit products of milk, coffee, and cocoa industries as well as innovations in algae, flour, pulp and paper, and coconut oil industries.

"For the milk industry, we will showcase our digitization, starting from the farm level at the gathering station to milk processing. We hope European (companies) can invest in our industry, whether in farming or milk materials for which the need must be fulfilled through imports," the director general explained.

He also pointed out that the West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, and Sulawesi regions have development potential for their vast land.

Sumatra and Kalimantan regions have the development potential to combine coconut oil and cow farming and milk industries, he stated.

"It is a huge potential, as we are still importing up to 80 percent of milk materials. Investment opportunities in those regions will be good for employment in the on-farm and milk processing sectors," Ardika remarked.
